Most bearings sold in Pakistan come through a handful of markets, and Brandreth Road in Lahore is the biggest of them. Importers, wholesalers and small shops sit side by side there, and from there the stock moves out to workshops, factories and dealers across the country. We have worked from Rehman Street, Brandreth Road since 2003, so this guide is written from the inside.
The main bearing markets
- Brandreth Road and Gawalmandi, Lahore : industrial bearings of every type, from small 6000-series ball bearings to large spherical roller bearings for mills. Most wholesale and import business in Punjab happens here.
- Badami Bagh, Lahore : mainly automotive, tractor and motorcycle bearings.
- Karachi and other cities : local dealers, many of whom buy their stock from the Lahore and Karachi importers.
You do not have to visit in person. Most buyers outside Lahore send the bearing number on WhatsApp and have the order delivered.
What to send when you ask for a price
- The full bearing number , including the letters after it. A 6204-ZZ and a 6204-2RS are the same size but not the same bearing.
- The quantity . One piece for a repair and 500 pieces for a production line are priced differently.
- Your city , so delivery can be included.
- A photo , if the number is worn off, along with the bore, outside diameter and width in millimetres.
How to avoid fake bearings
Well-known international brands are copied heavily. A box that looks right is not proof. Buy from an established importer or wholesaler, ask where the stock comes from, and be suspicious of a famous-brand bearing offered far below everyone else's price. For most general machinery, an honest quality bearing at a fair price serves you better than a cheap copy of an expensive brand.
Single pieces or bulk
A good supplier will sell you one bearing for a breakdown today and quote a container for next month. If a size is not in stock, ask whether it can be imported to order rather than settling for the wrong one.
